Lamps members participated the Fields/Guelph Biomathematics and Biostatistics Symposium

    On May 5th, 2015 several members of LAMPS and faculty in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at York University participated in the 2015 Biomathematics and Biostatistics Symposium: "Descriptive and Predictive Methods in the Study of Communicable Diseases" at the University of Guelph. Professor Xin Gao gave an keynote presentation of her work on West Nile virus. Ph.D students from Lamps, including Yurong Cao, Longbin Chen, Juan Li, Wenzhe Li and Don Yu presented their posters. The poster "Temperature and Precipitation Driven Weekly Forecasting Models of Mosquito Abundance and West Nile virus Risk in the Greater Toronto Area" by the Lamps members won the first place in the student poster session.
